FINE JEWELRY FOR A CAUSE
AND HOW WE CAME TO BEE

Festoon was dreamt up by Kate Petrie,

a RISD architecture grad, co-founder of the Jamestown Arts Center, co-founder of The Friends of Jamestown Bees and long time Rhode Island resident.

She is passionate about the arts, design and the environment and has a very deep love of bees!

Inspired by the whimsical experience of making daisy chains out of fresh wild flowers, Kate set out to  create an  elegant, versatile and customizable jewelry concept that celebrates our connections to one another and to nature, in particular pollinators and how vital they are to life on earth. Each lovingly designed and lustrous sterling silver and 18k gold charm links into the next making infinite configurations. Bees, buttercups, daisies and soon butterflies and leaves can adorn you.

A beekeeper herself, Kate's mission is to create positive change on our beautiful planet. With your buying power, our small business donates a percentage of profits to the Audubon Society of Rhode Island's efforts to restrict the use of pollinator killing neonicotinoid pesticides in the Ocean State.

By wearing your nature inspired jewelry, you become part of the festoon hive as we to raise awareness and funds for environmental protection. Thank you.

Locally + Sustainably Made in Rhode Island

Our fine jewelry is meticulously crafted from 100% recycled sterling silver, reducing CO2 emissions by 2/3 versus mined silver, and 14k recycled gold, resulting in beautiful pieces that are sure to stand the test of time.

Since the nineteenth century, Rhode Island has been the epicenter of jewelry manufacturing. Festoon is committed to supporting the revival of this industry in Rhode Island.

Our pieces are cast and hand finished by R&D Manufacturing Company in Pawtucket, RI. With everything made to order and produced in-state, we aim to support the historic art of jewelry manufacturing here in the original jewelry-making capital.

FOR THE LOVE OF BEES

Bees, responsible for a third of all food we eat, are in great peril due to toxic pesticides and other human pollution. Now more than ever, they need our help.

We believe in using entrepreneurship + consumerism as a force for good. With your buying power, a percentage of every festoon order goes to the Audubon Society of Rhode Island's efforts to restrict the use of bee killing neonicotinoid pesticides in the Ocean State.

Proudly wear your festoon jewelry, and become part of our hive, and a pollinator yourself.  Together, we can create change by saving the pollinators and making a positive impact on our planet.
